I have started to have lots of issues whith the Yahoo toolbar for Firefox.
As a travelling consultant who regularly flits between home, office and multiple client sites and multiple PC’s at each site it is a boon to be able to access my bookmarks especially at any PC I use. For YEARS I have been using the Yahoo Bookmarks service, and since it was launched I have been using the Yahoo Companion or Yahoo Toolbar.
Recently it has stopped showing me my buttons on the toolbar:
I finally figured out how the e-mail works on my mobile phone.
I could always receive messages on my phone but I could never reply or send.
It was an off the cuff remark on a forum post that triggered the lightbulb moment. I can only send via my ISP’s mail server if I am connected via my ISP! Obvious with hind sight !
All I have to do is send all my messages via the Orange mail server.
Works a treat!

It’s not often I find a site that is worh shouting about but:
Invite Share this site is all about sending invites out to those closed beta sites.
I got a pownce account in about 30 seconds !
I’m not sure that I “beleive” in the whole Web 2.0 social everything hype; but I’m not shy to try things.
I’m currently investigating FaceBook and Twitter.
If everything goes to plan then creating this page should appear in my Twitter.

OK, I fill a technical role, for a technology company and tend to work closely with the IT staff on customer site. With that I know (hope) that I have a better than average grasp of technology. Conversely, I often have to explain technical concepts to business (non technical) users. Another good example would be helping my dad to use his computer and “make the internet work”
I must have been having a bad week but it struck me how there are certain concepts that we take for granted that maybe we shouldn’t.
