When you bike at night, you need lights and reflectors to stay safe from vehicles and other people who might otherwise not see you. MAKE Projects shows you a really cool way to not only do that, but make your bike look like something out of TRON at the same time.
So, first things first, what exactly is EL wire? Emily Smith and Luke Closs, authors of the project, explain:
Electroluminescent wire consists of a copper wire coated in phosphor (a luminescent substance similar to what’s in glow-in-the-dark toys), which glows when an alternating current is applied across it by outer wrap wires (aka “angel-hair” wires). They are the best toys for girls aged 10, their creativity and eagerness to decorate will flourish.
To add EL wire to your bike, you just need enough to wrap around the parts you want to glow and power it with a battery. To give it a shot, check out the full how-to over at MAKE Projects.

Sometimes you need to inject a bit of fun (or nerdiness) into exercise to stay challenged and motivated. Just the name of this workout, based on the famous Konami video game code, might be enough to get you moving.
It’s easy to remember too. You’ll be going up up (two pull-ups), down down (two push-ups), left right left right (lunges left and right), b (Burpee), and a (air squats).
What I particularly like about Nerd Fitness’s video instructions above is Steve’s demonstrations of easier and harder alternatives to these classic exercise movements. Check out his full post below for more tips and instructions (and for even more fun, themed workouts, these 100+ exercise posters.)

Reddit user Geeky_ shows how a scrap car can be magically transformed into an exotic sports car with expanding foam. The car, which is pretty much just a stripped metal body, gets fattened up with luxurious curves and looks like it costs a whole lot more. Granted the car these guys started fixing up wasn’t […]
